The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment is the Ofqual-regulated qualification that the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) requires for its 5-year Green Labourer Card. It is designed to get you on to UK building sites legally and safely, and covers the site safety you need every day: risk assessments, safe manual handling, working at height and controlling hazardous substances.
Passing this accredited, invigilated assessment meets the training requirement that proves your occupational competence to site contractors across the UK. Your certificate does not expire. Together with the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test, it lets you apply for your CSCS card and start work.

Safe lifting, carrying and the use of handling aids.
Ladders, scaffolds, edge protection and preventing falls.
COSHH, asbestos awareness, dust, noise, vibration and personal protective equipment.
Fire safety, electrical hazards, plant and vehicles, welfare facilities and accident reporting.
An invigilated multiple-choice assessment at the end of the day.
Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (Leading to CSCS Green Card)
On passing the assessment you will receive a nationally recognised, Ofqual-regulated certificate that does not expire and is accepted by CSCS for the Green Labourer Card.
